A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Martin Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, a social media critic facing cyberbullying charges.

Otse was released from police custody on Monday after meeting the bail conditions, although the specific terms remain undisclosed.

He was arraigned on May 22 for cyberstalking and faced charges related to posting offensive content on Instagram, including allegations against Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh.

The charges included posting “grossly offensive, pornographic, indecent, obscene, or menacing” content on his Instagram handle.

Otse denied all charges, and his legal team successfully requested he remain in police custody instead of being remanded in prison.

He was subsequently transferred to the National Cybercrime Centre. According to his lawyer, the arrest was prompted by complaints from Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo, and Samklef.
