Renowned Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, often referred to as Falz the bad guy, has recently used social media as a platform to support Super Eagles player, Alex Iwobi.
Reports emerged that Iwobi faced significant backlash from Nigerian netizens following alleged underperformance during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday.
In defense of the athlete, Falz highlighted that every player donning the green and white in representation of Nigeria at the AFCON put in considerable effort and does not merit unfair treatment.
On Monday evening, Falz posted Alex Iwobi’s image on his Instagram account, condemning online harassment and showcasing his admiration for the player.
He wrote;
“We win together, we lose together. Every single player that puts on the green white green to represent us, is making an immense sacrifice and does not deserve to be treated with this much disdain.
“We speak a lot about cyber-bullying but we are so quick to turn against our own. @alexanderiwobi Love you bro! Thank you.”
