“We won’t participate in Adamawa council poll”– APC

Published on

The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its decision to boycott the upcoming local government election scheduled for July 13, 2024, by the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC).

Despite initially expressing willingness to participate, the party has reversed its stance, citing concerns over the electoral process.

The APC youth wing has taken its opposition a step further by filing a lawsuit against the electoral body and the state government, alleging hijacking of the election process by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a communique issued after a meeting between the APC state leadership and the Coalition of APC Support Groups, the party reiterated its decision not to participate in the election, citing anomalies in the composition of the ADSIEC members, among other grievances.

The party insists that it cannot ignore these irregularities and will continue to challenge them through legal means.
