Yul Edochie, a well-known actor in Nollywood, has refuted claims that he is married to fellow actress Judy Austin.
It was reported that Yul mentioned in his court filing that their relationship was solely based on creating skits together, contradicting rumors of a legal marriage. Yul’s legal team, represented by Emeka Ugwuonye of Due Process Advocates (DPA), confirmed this statement.
However, there was a misunderstanding regarding a court hearing scheduled for March 5, 2024, which led to miscommunication between the parties. Mr. Ugwuonye clarified the situation in a video posted on Instagram, emphasizing that their case against Yul and Judy for adultery stands strong.
The attorney highlighted that Yul and Judy’s acknowledgment of having a child together serves as evidence in the case, making it unnecessary for May to provide further proof. Despite Yul’s denial of a formal marriage, the legal implications of their relationship remain under scrutiny.
He said:
“May doesn’t really have much to worry about at this point. On the main issue of divorce for adultery, May doesn’t have much to prove anymore because Mr Yul Edochie himself admits that he and Judy produced a baby. They denied being married, that’s alright, but they admitted they had a baby. If you had a baby, then adultery has been admitted by Mr Yul Edochie and that’s the main issue.”
