Atiku Abubakar, former Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, has revealed that his late mentor, Shehu Musa Yar’adua, instructed him to step down for MKO Abiola during the Social Democratic Party primaries in 1993.
Atiku shared this in an interview with Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie of Untold Stories, stating that Yar’adua gave him the instruction during a meeting at Ambassador Kwande’s house, where he simply said, “Step down for MKO Abiola”.
